FAQs

  1. Can I sign up for an advanced-level class?
Contact Antoinette (through the form below or via email aspeciallee0521@verizon.net) to discuss your experience and we’ll figure out which class is the best fit for you.

  2. Do I need to own my own sewing machine?
Sewing machines are provided. Students learn on Brother sewing machines. If you have a sewing machine that you want to learn on, you can bring it to class. Please make sure it is in good working condition and bring the manual and essential parts with you. If you have questions, contact Antoinette.

  3. What should I bring on the first day of class?

Students in Intro I series do not need to bring anything the first day of class. We will provide all necessary materials. If you have registered for Intro II or III classes or open studio, there will be a supply list or you will know to bring the project you plan to start working on.

  4. Do I need to purchase anything for class?
There are additional supplies to be purchased depending on the class type. A supply list will be sent for those classes through email.

  5. Can I store items in the studio?
There is limited space in the studio and we don't want to risk your items being lost or mixed up with another student's. Please remember to bring your materials with you each week.

  6. If I arrive early, can I start early?
Class starts and ends at the scheduled time. Students will be let into the studio 5 minutes before the start of class but should wait until the official start time to start working.

  7. Do you have parking?
Off-street parking is regularly available. There is one space in the back of the studio available on a first-come, first-served basis. Our studio is conveniently located near the Petworth / Georgia Ave Metro stop and various bus lines (H8, 70 and 60 lines).
